Kevranna St Ives – aka St Ives Community Foodshare

Our mission is to reduce food poverty and prevent food waste while supporting our local community.

We rescue surplus food that would otherwise go to landfill and redistribute it to people who need it most.

‘Kevranna’ means to share in Cornish, and sharing is at the heart of everything we do; from food and meals to skills and volunteer time.

Each day, our volunteers collect good food and other items from local supermarkets, bakeries, farms, restaurants, businesses and individuals that would otherwise be thrown away. Everything we gather is offered to the community for collection six days a week.

Alongside food sharing, we organise regular community meals and have a weekly skill-sharing social club, bringing people together to learn, connect and care for one another.

Volunteers needed, get involved

This project can only run due to our volunteers who help pick up the food every night and help with collections, deliveries, cleaning, cooking etc. We really appreciate any help you can offer so please get in touch or complete our online application form if you are interested in volunteering with us.

DONATE / SUPPORT

We welcome donations to help us continue work on our projects and appreciate support in many different ways. Please also keep us in mind whenever you may have food that is about to expire. We could put your waste or surplus food to good use!

FEEDBACK

We appreciated feedback so please share your experience of how any of our projects, events, clubs, foodshare and volunteering with us have affected or benefited you and how we can improve our services.

There are a lot of amazing projects here in Cornwall, offering support in many different ways.
When people need help we try and signpost them to the right places to receive help.
Here is a collection of ones we have collected offering help for things like mental health concerns, housing benefit,
emergency funds, assistance for homeless, access to emergency accomodation,
