Here is some feedback from a facebook post in Oct 2025:
- Kirsty Arthur – You are seen and valued. The absolute effort that is needed to even get something like this off the ground, let alone sustainable is enormous.
- Lesley Sanders – We are very grateful for all you all do for us!!! You all do a wonderful job for the community and we really appreciate all the support you give us. Big hugs to you all xxxxxx
- Vicki Cole – I’ve been so thankful for all the community meals and food shares you have done and it’s been truly a blessing at times when money has been tight and cupboards have been running on minimal. The work you do is incredible and I hope one day (when my life is less hectic!) that I’ll be able to give back and help out

- Kelly Marie – The work you do and the service you are doing in your community is valuable and very much needed. Have you thought about becoming part of the Lions who run similar projects and provide a network of support etc

- Jo Dereza – I know full well what an incredible feat Foodshare is, having been one of the original volunteers, up to a few years back when I had to stop because of injury. I’ve been on the receiving end of Foodshare too, and was so grateful. Often Marina delivering my food was the only person I spoke to in a week. The work you all do and the community that’s been created is incredible, and something to be proud of, and yes, you absolutely deserve utmost respect.
- Nicola Eicher – You guys are amazing, volunteering is hard work, please know that you are very much seen and appreciated in our community, thank you for all that you do.
- Nick Widdows (St Johns in the Fields Church) – Keep up the good work guys. You are doing an incredible job and we love partnering with you!
- Kirsty Whitwam – I think you are all fantastic, I’ve had nothing but kind friendly and helpful people who have volunteered at the surplus food meets. We’ve all had a few laughs, waited our turn and been extremely thankful. I do hate food waste so its fantastic what the group does to ensure this keeps people ded, waste down and communities together. Thankyou for everything you guys do… I appreciate it. X x x

- Josette Fuller – Much needed community service totally volunteer lead helps many struggling local familys i support and respect our local foodshare i have also volunteered my self in the past well worth doing xxxx
- – I really enjoy the social aspects of activities as I am very isolated (no local family) and this impacts my mental health as I suffer from depression and anxiety. I really miss Monday Munch and do hope it returns soon. I am so very grateful, many thanks.
- – Since volunteering with Foodshare, collecting food from supermarkets it has helped with my confidence with people and has enabled me to find out about different activities happening within our community. I’ve attended the Monday munch a few times and been to collection times at the rugby club for myself and family members. Foodshare has helped me and my friends and family through some really difficult Financial Times and it’s encouraged me to make my own meals which are healthier and last longer than ready made meals. I use a lot more fresh food and buy it more. I fit volunteering around my daily activities as I find I am passing the supermarkets that donate, I enjoy making it look presentable and sorting through any that isn’t and feel accomplished when so many people come to collect and save from landfill.
- – I’ve been volunteering at Monday mayhem and munch,Kevranna and Friday community meal. As a lady in her 60’s finding another job after redundancy was hard but thanks to experience gained from volunteering I’ve managed to pick up a few hours at a local B and B. My family are all grown up and leading busy lives, so after losing my job I began to feel lonely and no use to any one I was getting more and more depressed so when I saw a post on Facebook asking for volunteers I joined and never looked back, I’ve made new friends, and colour and crafting are now part of me again. Also having access to fruit and vegetables is a great health bonus as being unemployed fruit especially is usually out of my budget.
- – I never have to worry about my kids being hungry. Thanks to foodshare I always have fruit and healthy snacks for them that I cannot otherwise afford.
- – I started volunteering in covid times. Helping deliver food parcels to vulnerable people. Not able to work due to covid it also helped me be around people and helped with the isolation. Fast forward to now I still volunteer but I also am poor so it helps me financially by getting food. St ives community Foodshare and all the other groups that have splintered off from this are amazing and help so many people. It brings the community together and supports everyone who uses it.
- – Life would be dull without Kevranna
- – My experience has been amazing. I think the organisation is brilliant! Love meeting all the volunteers and people collecting the food. Being involved makes me happy.
- – I enjoy Volunteering in my community, knowing that the food is going to people who need it and not going to land fill and waste. I feel the project works well and is well organised. I like that I can make a difference by just giving a short amount of time to a very good cause.
- – After being made redundant at age 60 and struggling to find another job, I was feeling very low and isolated. I started volunteering for St Ives community foodshare and now feel there is a purpose to my life once again. Helping at the orchard with the Pumpkin party was great fun meeting new people and swapping recipes.
- – We attended the pumkin party on Saturday as a family including 2 children. It was a fantastic event we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was really well organised, had lots of nice activities for the children and the food was delicious. We loved the ethos behind the event, so much so we helped pick some pumpkins the day before at a local farm. The volunteers are all such lovely people, happy and friendly and always make events a real pleasure. We are very lucky to have such a great space locally and also to have foodshare which everyone involved works so hard to keep going. We will definitely be attending if it happens again next year. Keep up the good work.
- – Started volunteering with st Ives community foodshare – everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly, I was well briefed and good induction. Event at orchard was lovely opportunity to meet new people and I felt welcomed and included
