We enjoyed a wonderful Community Christmas dinner. A huge thank you to Rick Chappel, and Leif and Nicole Tesseyman, for coming along and making things truly merry with their beautiful songs. The Cornish Twelve Days of Christmas singalong was especially good fun.
Thanks also to Ken for running a really fun Christmas quiz.
Our chef, Paula Wint, cooked up an incredibly delicious feast, starting with canapé crostini with mackerel pâté, homemade labneh, hummus, and stuffed eggs. This was followed by roast chicken, beef, and ham, with all the traditional Christmas trimmings, and finished with pudding. There was plenty left over, and with takeaway containers ready, lots of food went home with people so nothing was wasted.
And thank you to all the Foodshare volunteers who helped set the tables so beautifully, served the food, and cleared and cleaned everything away afterwards.
We’re very grateful for the generous donations towards the meal from
- Livewest who have donated £500 towards the meal.
- Orange Rooves who have donated £250 towards the meal.
- Rotary Club of St Ives who donated £100 towards the meal.
- Tretho Lounge who donated a lot of food to the event
- St Ives Community Orchard for the generous supplies of mulled cider and mulled apple juice.
- Western Hotel who have provided the venue free of charge, it’s such a beautiful venue.
- And to all the Foodshare volunteers who helped set the tables so beautifully, served the food, and cleared and cleaned everything away afterwards.
A truly festive community effort, thank you all
