St Ives FREE FOR ALL event took place on Saturday 30th November 2024 at St John in the Fields Church.
Tons of unwanted items were dropped off at the church between 9 and 11am and volunteers from St Ives Community Foodshare, St Ives Town Council and St John’s in-the-Fields Church laid out everything tidily on all the tables.
The mayor announced open doors at 11am exactly and people poured in to browse through everything.
It was a lot of fun but there was unfortunately too much stuff left over. Much of it was taken to various charity shops and another free for all was held at a local shop that week. Next year it was decided that collection time would be much longer in order to allow time for more stuff to go.
