At the end of the summer 2023 we started up our very popular Friday Community meals again and will continue until spring of 2024. All are welcome to come and join us for our weekly community meal on Fridays at St John’s in-the-Fields hall (behind the church) in St Ives for a delicious, informal, community meal. No booking required, all welcome, just rock up from 5.30pm, find a seat and enjoy a nice hot meal and pudding. Cost is £3 or pay what you can and children eat for free. Read more.
Community Christmas Lunch 2023
There will be a special Community Christmas lunch held on Friday 22nd Dec between 1 and 3pm, booking essential. Anyone is welcome to pop along between 2 and 3pm for a chat and a mince pie, to enjoy seeing all the Christmas trees that have each been decorated by the local community and some live music.
This will be our 3rd year hosting a community Christmas dinner. Every year we bring people together who would usually be spending the festive period alone, or who might be struggling financially. With our amazing team of volunteers, we aim to put on a day filled to the brim with love, kindness, and delicious food.
The traditional lunch with pudding and all the trimmings is going to be held inside the beautiful church, surrounded by decorated Christmas trees. See photos from last year’s lunch. This meal is completely free but donations are appreciated.

The meal is open for all, we aim to bring people together to spread some Christmas joy, reduce isolation, promote well-being and to support people in this time of spiralling living costs. This season of joy can also be a lonely time for many, so do help us to reach out and find those who may benefit by coming along. If you know someone who lives alone, perhaps offer to bring them along to the lunch as they may be nervous to attend on their own.
