Foodshare’s Backyard Nature

Join Foodshare’s New BACKYARD NATURE Group!

Help us green our neighbourhood by planting fruit and vegetables, recording local wildlife, and keeping our community clean!

We’re focusing on the areas around Penbeagle, Tregwary, and Carnellis estates, where we have permission to plant in various locations.

📅 Wednesdays | 3:30 – 5:30 PM
📍 Meeting at The Core, St Ives Community Orchard (Penbeagle Lane, TR26 2HS)
📆 Starting 26th March for 8 weeks
Free tea & cake while we plan, then we head out on our mission!

What We’ll Be Doing:

✅ Planting fruit trees, bushes & vegetables in community spaces
✅ Litter picking to help care for our local environment
✅ Recording and identifying local wildlife & plants
✅ Creating and maintaining community growing spaces

Get involved! We’ve been given permission from LiveWest to plant in various locations around Penbeagle, and St Ives Community Orchard now has two new growing plots in Carnellis Road and Tregwary Road. These will become community gardens, where volunteers can help prepare the land, sow and tend to vegetables, and share in the harvest.

We’re kicking off with a litter pick at our first session – litter pickers provided!

Everyone is welcome – all ages, no experience needed.

Come along, meet like-minded people, and help us grow free, nutritious food while creating a greener, cleaner community!

👉 Join us at The Core, St Ives Community Orchard, Penbeagle Lane, TR26 2HS.

Thank you to Clarion Futures for funding this project and to our volunteers who are putting in time to run the sessions.
